Similarity Analysis of Understorey Plant Species in Forest Areas

نویسندگان

چکیده

Many forests have substantial understorey plants. These plants an important contribution to soil and water conservation. The similarity index determines the resemblance of species structure composition in a community. This research is aimed see impact relationship changes allocation forest areas species. was conducted using line plot sampling method, sized 2 m x m, with observed been measured from germination young plant (height 1.5 m). number plots plantation 480 plots, protected 224 natural 96 plots. Determination based on minimum representative area curve. A Similarity Index performed analyze data. results indicated that there It known low value at location. due differences environmental factors two locations such as air humidity, temperature, intensity sunlight, different patterns management.

Sensitivity of understorey bird species in two different successional stages of the lowland Atlantic Forest, Brazil.

The Atlantic Forest has a high destruction rate and there is little information available on some aspects of the neotropical bird biology. Changes in environment are important factors that affect the resources available to birds. We compared the species sensitivity level of understorey birds in two areas in distinct successional stages (primary and secondary sections). Two 100 ha plots of lowla...

Trait evolution and the coexistence of a species swarm in the tropical forest understorey

1. A small number of species-rich plant genera make a substantial contribution to the a diversity of tropical forests. These ‘species swarms’ (Gentry 1982) challenge a view of community assembly that maintains that niche overlap, and hence, the likelihood of competitive exclusion should increase with phylogenetic affinity. Related species may, however, occupy different microhabitats within a fo...
